ABOUT ME
I grew up in North Carolina and started writing almost from the time I started to read. I write small-town southern fiction, the ties that pull people together and those that push people apart. I'm currently working on a southern women's fiction project about what happens to the family of a senator and potential presidential candidate when his long-term affair is exposed, forcing them all to reexamine their relationships and loyalties.

I studied English at Wake Forest University, and earned a masters in journalism and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Georgia. I've written two non-fiction books and write a blog for Psychology Today on mentoring, management, and work.
